PSAT Registration Information: Due 9/26/25

Dear Parent / Guardian:

Lynbrook High School will be administering the digital Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) for juniors and sophomores on Friday, October 3, 2025, which is the morning of our evacuation drill. This exam is optional. For those students who elect to take the exam, once testing is finished they will resume their regular school day and partake in our evacuation drill at 1:00 p.m. as scheduled.

The digital PSAT/NMSQT takes 2 hours and 14 minutes and consists of 2 sections: (1) the Reading and Writing Section, and (2) the Math Section. Most of the questions are multiple choice, though some math questions ask you to write in the answer rather than select it. It is recommended that students have already completed Geometry when considering taking the PSAT.  More information can be found here: PSAT Student Guide: PSAT/NMSQT Student Guide (collegeboard.org)

The PSAT/NMSQT is great practice for the SAT Reasoning Test which many juniors will begin to take in the spring of 2025. Juniors who take the test may also qualify to enter the National Merit Scholarship Programs.
